Mike Tyson remains one of the most influential men in combat sports. For months, the former heavyweight champion has been hinting at making a comeback. More information about Mike Tyson’s MMA event is now starting to surface, as well.
It’s been a busy year for Tyson, who now seems interested in breaking into fight promotion. This would be the first time he’s entering into the MMA game, though. Today, we’re going to look at what’s being planned for this event.

Mike Tyson is Still Gearing Up for a Fight
During the 1980s and 1990s, Mike Tyson was one of the most feared combat sports athletes on the planet. He was a ferocious boxer with unusual speed and movement in the heavyweight division. After a tough defeat to Kevin McBride in 2005, Tyson officially retired from boxing.
He’s dabbled in several different businesses over the years. Most recently, “Iron Mike” has found tremendous success with his cannabis and podcast business. He told the media several times that he would never step into the boxing ring as a competitor again.
To the surprise of almost everyone, Tyson revealed he was back training for a fight again. Footage emerged and Mike looked to be in incredible shape. News eventually broke that Tyson was taking on Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout.
This fight was originally supposed to take place on September 12th. It was then pushed back until late November. After new complaints over pay from Jones Jr., some fear that this exciting clash will not come together at all.
That doesn’t mean that Mike is taking his foot off the gas. New reports indicate he’s ready to break into the MMA promotional game. His team has several exciting clashes already being considered for this card, too.
If all goes according to plan, we could see some of MMA’s most legendary fighters competing again soon.

The popularity of MMA is at an all-time high right now. The UFC was one of the first major sports leagues to begin operating again, helping it to draw in a huge number of new fans. Many of these fans have stuck around and continue to watch events on a weekly basis.
MMA promoters are now looking to capitalize on this new success. The UFC continues to host incredible events every week. Bellator and ONE Championship are now hosting fantastic events, too.
It now appears that Mike Tyson and his team are gearing up to put on one of these events. They seem to feel that stacking the card with MMA legends is the best move forward. More details on Mike Tyson’s MMA event are now coming out.
This card, called “Fight Club After Dark,” is featuring six of the best fighters to ever compete in Pride Fighting Championship.
Vitor Belfort, one of the fighters rumored to compete, spoke about the event to the media this week.
“It’s about to happen, it’s in the oven, it’s cooking,” Belfort said. “Let’s do the rematch of the century. You’ll get the best fight of the century.”
Some are expressing doubt that Mike Tyson’s MMA event will come together in the way that’s being proposed. It would cost an incredible amount of money to secure each of the fighters. Some also appear to be under contract with other organizations.

Many feel the biggest fight is the one between Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa. Adesanya is the current middleweight champion and enters this bout as the -165 favorite, according to Bovada. Paulo Costa is the +135 underdog heading into this matchup.
The lightweight title bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje is also drawing in serious fan interest. Khabib is the -250 favorite, as he’s 28-0 and one of the most dominant fighters in MMA. Justin Gaethje enters this contest as the +195 underdog.
If it manages to come together, we’ll see odds on Mike Tyson’s MMA event come out, as well. There are several bouts being proposed that would likely be highly competitive.
